On July 1st, the Communist Party of China celebrates turning the ripe old age of 89 years old. To celebrate this geriatric achievement, Lantung will be holding a birthday party on the evening of July 1st to wish the party another 89 years of rule under guiding principles of modern socialist theory (actually we’re just using this as an excuse to get drunk). With summer officially in season, we expect to party the night away on the rooftop under the round moon so reminiscent of the former Chairman’s cherubic face. We’re sending the invite out to the upper echelons of the Party as well, so don’t be surprised to see a few famous faces from the CCP in attendance kicking back a few mojitos (not really). To get the night off to a great start, come wearing red or pink and get a free drink on us. So don’t be a Trotskyist or a capitalist roader and join us for what should be an epic communist party. On April 29, Gayographic will be turing a fabulous one year old and the old dame will be partying in style. Now that the winter chills are making way for springtime balminess, the rooftop will be open for all the late night shenanigans that open air parties entail. Gayographic night has been a tremendous success over the past year and we have YOU to thank for it that’s why we are holding an OPEN BAR from midnight to 1am. So join us on Thursday April 29th and celebrate one year of Getting Your Drink On. As always, two for one drinks all night. It’s the end of the decade, bitches! Time to finalize your list of New Year’s resolutions, which we hope includes a resolution to party more during the fabulous 2010s. To help you kick off the new decade, Lantung will be in full swing and out of control as every New Year’s Eve party should be. So come to Lantung, raise a glass, a toast the start of not only a new year, but a new decade!

This Christmas Eve, Gayographic Night will be extra special with a heavy dose of Christmas cheer, with the Lantung “Merry Wonderland” party. All night long, free gifts in the form of tapas and watermelon shot will be sure to make everyone merry. If you print out this post or show the Gayographic text message we will send out on Thursday, you will be able to enjoy a 150 kuai all-you-can-drink special on selected cocktails all evening long, or until Santa comes sneaking though the backdoor. Considering that most people are going back to work (oh nooooo…!) this Friday, Lantung will start its gay rooftop party a little earlier than usual this week. If you have partied hard like us, and everyone else, in the past eight days, this is the perfect way for all of us to slowly get back to our common senses without having to worry about staying out too late.

For those of you unlucky enough to still be in the Capital during the eight-day masturbatory celebrations by the Communist Party, we at Gayographic feel your pain because we are stuck here as well. Rather than hide at home in our underwear with a bottle of gin (our usual nightly activity), we have decided to continue with the Gayographic nights at Lantung and Lan Club on Thursday and Friday despite the holiday celebrations. The big day will be October 1st and Lantung will be setting up a big screen and outdoor seating for the fireworks display so you can safely watch the festivities from the other side of town, far away from the hordes and the chaos. Following in the footsteps of some of the more progressive members of our community, Lantung and Gayographic have decided on a open relationship with their cocktails, but for one night only. At the end of this month, the Gayographic night at Lantung will have been an established part of the party circuit for six months. As in most long-term relationships, it is necessary to spice things up a little to rekindle the flames. So, to celebrate our anniversary and to thank all of you, our Gayographic hordes, next Thursday, September 10, Lantung and Gayographic will be offering an open bar on select drinks starting at 10pm till the booze runs out. In ancient China, red paper lanterns, which were thought to be sensual, were placed outside brothels to identify them as such. These hanging red lanterns bathed the streets around brothels in red, thus giving us the term red-light district. Since most of our parties could be considered borderline prostitution anyway, we have decided to run with this concept and throw a red-light district party at Lantung this Thursday complete with red lanterns and dirty sluts, the latter being a regular weekly concept. Without at doubt, Gayographic night at Lantung has been an astounding success, and we have you to thank for it. Come rain or shine (mostly rain) you have turned up to Lantung to “get your pink on” and to celebrate the imminent arrival of the weekend. You bore with us through the initial hiccups and bore with us when the weather has been less than cooperative. To give thanks for all your support of Gayographic night, Lantung will be throwing a FREE THAI BARBECUE for all early birds between 9:30pm to 10:30pm. So don’t miss some free and fabulous food before kicking off your Thursday night journey to Friday morning hangover.
