This Thursday Gayographic Happy Hour is back as usual at Lantung in Solana. After last Thursday’s smashing success, we saw nearly two hundred happy homos descend on Gayographic’s opening night party to enjoy the unique cocktails and moon patio. We’re back this Thursday with happy hour until 11:30pm and a free tapas buffet table for the early birds.

For an extra special surprise, two of Beijing’s pinkest are celebrating their birthday together and those on the special birthday list will enjoy happy hour specials all evening. Are you on the list? So once again, put on your finest and head over to Lantung this Thursday for another fantastically queer evening.

We here at Gayographic would like to thank everyone for coming to our first ever Gayographic Night at Lantung on Thursday. On all accounts, it was a HUGE success with lots of familiar faces stopping by for the all-night long happy hour. We must admit that the night did not go off completely without a hitch since service was notably slow, excruciatingly so in some cases. However, since the turnout was more than any of us expected (over 200 merry fairies!), it caught the Lantung staff off guard and scrambling to satisfy the thirsty crowd. Last week we were lamenting the loss of the much-loved Mesh happy hour after management decided that those pesky straight people and their rented friends were cashing in on our pink discount. So from the "can we make it before 11pm?" happy hour, we are now at the "oh, hell no we ain’t gonna make it before 9pm!" happy hour. Though your correspondent loves Mesh, it might be time to infuse some fresh blood in our long-standing tradition of getting pink in the face every Thursday. Your friends at Gayographic.cn have teamed up with Lantung Thai Bar and Bistro in Solana to bring back the pinkest 2-for-1 happy hour in the Capital, this time with an extra half hour of happiness ending at 11:30pm. As of late, Thursday nights at Mesh have become THE place to see and be seen by the pink socialites of the Capital. Much less aggressive than Destination, its weekly gay night has been a runaway success, especially with the two for one drink specials until 11pm. As of this week, a new policy change has lowered the happiness level of happy hour by two full hours landing at the much less merry 9pm. Your correspondent did a little sleuthing while drinking his one and only drink for the evening and heard from a few patrons that management claims gay night was becoming overrun with prostitutes and straight men who were crashing the sausage party for cheap drinks. The former, as you would expect, would be the ever present money boys, but, in fact, they were female hookers, ladies of the night, supposedly servicing the straight men who had little other choice of finding an after hours partner unless they really didn’t mind same-sex after hours company. Management’s strategy to address this most awful situation was to limit happy hour to 9pm in hopes of driving those straight boys and their hired help back to Kai Club. It waits to be seen if this plan backfires since our kind is a fickle lot who, in the end, may choose an alternative new and fresh instead of Mesh.
