gayographic201005112Beijing stepped into summer overnight and here we are in the passionate May now. To respond to the International Day against Homophobia and Transphobia, we are starting up the third China Queer Film Festival Tour (CQFFT). A collection of new films will be shown and you will not want to miss them. This year, asall ticket sales will be donated to Beijing LGBT center for its operational expenses.

Synopsis:
Cowboy forever, will take you to the other side of this planet and show you the sexy Argentinian cowboys, and their man-to-man romance. Comrades, you’ve worked hard! is a documentary of the “Mr Gay China” contest, recording every detail from the beginning to the end. It will show you the unique and unparalleled experience within the contest. Chinese Closet is apparently about coming out from the closet. Are you still in the closet today?

Synopsis:
Toilet and Lesbian Kiss are short films produced by “Nutong Xueshe, Hong Kong”. Other tells the story of same-sex marriage in California, United States. Goodbye Antonia, and ShiBan, which are from Germany and China respectively, focuses on the same topic – transgender (from female to male). Shallow Sleep is an animation full of imagination. Hong’er tells the story of a lesbian woman in a rural village.

China Queer Independent Films(CQIF)was founded in March 2008 by a group of LGBT artists, activists, critics, and fans, through mass media, aiming to improve LGBT people’s self-identity, and enhance the visibility of LGBT in society by creating, screening and promoting queer independent films, and challenging mainstream media and films about the LGBT community, CQIF strives for rights and freedom towards sexual orientation and sexual identity.
