gayographic2010041201Regarding Same-sex Marriage

Most Chinese people assume that the US capital is New York. You can laugh but it’s also true that some American high school students can’t pinpoint Taiwan on a world map. Maybe they can’t find China first!? (oops!) But why does this have to do with same-sex marriage? Well, it doesn’t. My point is that most Chinese gay people don’t care about themselves enough to give a damn to same-sex marriage or at what stage this law has passed up in the government. There are many more basic needs to meet such as buying food and shampoo. This legal bonding seems to be a luxury that the LGBT community can’t afford, for now.

gayographic2010041202You know, when you hear American gay rights activists talk about the fight for gay marriage against those who tout “family values” it sounds like an epic battle. First of all, it never fails to irritate me that the opposition insists that gay people, of course, have neither families nor any values. Anyways, I digress. Activists always talk about the front lines of this rainbow-colored war being state legislatures and state supreme courts, where eloquent lawyers, esteemed civil rights organzations, powerful lobbying forces, and religious institutions duke it out on a grand scale. My comment: That’s my slut, I mean, communist comrade.

He says1So the New York Times is reporting that a new study, soon to be published, confirms the fact that gay men are sluts. You don’t believe me? Check it out yourself! …okay, okay, so maybe it doesn’t exactly say that gay men are sluts – it says that gay men in the Bay Area are sluts …or if you want to get technical about it, “non-monogamous.” So how about the rest of us?

Now, it’s long been a stereotype that gay men can’t keep it in their pants, but the idea that a monogamy-challenged gay couple can be just as happy as a don’t-you-lay-an-eye-much-less-a-finger-on-another-man

When Rio and Ray married in 2008, the Bay Area women omitted two words from their wedding vows: fidelity and monogamy.

“I take it as a gift that someone will be that open and honest and sharing with me,” said Rio, using the word “open” to describe their marriage.

Love brought the middle-age couple together — they wed during California’s brief legal window for same-sex marriage. But they knew from the beginning that their bond would be forged on their own …
